An eerie look at the complexity of being perfect as a ballerina is intelligently portrayed by Natalie Portman. The directors did not insult the intelligence of the audience by suggesting they did not know what eatting disorders or mental health issues in the industry but the masterful story within a story was falling of grace of the swan...almost complete if not for the lackluster sexual chemistry of the characters and a choppy and hasty story...not worth a best movie Oscar nomination for the movie ut for the leading actress and great cinematography

I expected so much more. Natalie Portman was amazing in a ridiculous movie. "The Turning Point" meets "The Fly". This movie could have been so much better.

A fantastically chilling tale of desire and mental breakdown. Portman is raw, intense and fragile in what should be recognized as her best performance to date.

I wouldn't recommend this movie except, perhaps, to serious fans of dance, for the dance parts of the film. The hallucination scenes were confusing, which I found frustrating. It seemed to me the writers were just lazy, and couldn't find a way of resolving the plot. Also, some of the hallucination scenes were very, very, gory--unnecessarily so.
