Before going to see Black Swan I was given mixed reviews from friends whose opinions I trusted. Some reviews said this was a fantastic film while others said they walked out less than an hour in. In my experience, when I hear such opposing viewpoints on the same movie it usually means that I am going to enjoy it. This was the case with Black Swan. It is not a fast passed movie, it is not loaded with special effects, the actors are believable and there are moments of brilliance (both from the actors and the filmmakers) that make Black Swan worth the trip to the theater.
