I found the movie unrealistic frankly. I realise that the professional ballet world is cut-throat competative and demanding. I'm aware of eating disorders. I think I understand the depth of mental illness. It wasn't the story line so much as the cheap horror and squeamish skin and nail ripping that lead to my disappointment in the story depiction. Seems I'm in a minority here but ces la vie.

First, Natalie Portman gives a very strong, intense performance...without her the film would be boring. That being said, while I enjoyed the film, I didn't lvoe it as I found it a bit predictable and a bit dull at times.
