The hype for this movie gets you there...though do you really want to stay? My anticipation that some meaningful message would accompany the intense acting, was left unsatisfied. The plot is confusing; go with a friend so that after wards you can debate about what the movie was really about! What was the message, if there was one at all? A warning about the demands on body and spirit dancers must endure, perhaps? Or maybe dysfunctional relationships, jealousy, ambition, passion, are the keys to the theme! Maybe it was all metaphors for the battle between good and evil, purity and impurity, black and white? Possibly it was exploring systems of patriarchy and body politics? This movie can
