An incredible achievement in making a movie about being trapped so upbeat. Expectations of a dreary plot line focusing on the obvious psychological torture of the situation dissolved quickly as the filmmaker shows us how our main character got himself into his dire situation. With an upbeat tone and a very real feeling of hope, the movie flows nicely following the main character as he considers his life and choices while trapped. If only we knew a little more about our main character, his life and his family, I think could have given this movie 5 stars.

Intensity through inaction is incredibly difficult to achieve. But I feel Danny Boyle did that to a tee in 127 Hours. Great performance by James Franco.
