It was ok, but sort of got lost in the summer box office shuffle with other larger releases in and around the time. Clooney was good (per norm), but it just didn't have enough on the whole to win over more of an audience.

Even the Italian scenery was depressing, although it was the best thing about this pretentious boring piece of crap. The first ten minutes convinced me to stay and watch, thinking we might get back to something interesting. We both wanted to leave half way through. The ads were completely misleading. It is NOT a spy thriller or any kind of thriller or suspense movie. It is a (very bad) character study of the brooding fellow portrayed by Clooney (and badly). He must have wanted to film a movie close to home (now Italy). A huge mistake. DON'T see it. DON'T even rent it! I cannot think of anything I have seen worse than this with the possible exception of The Fountain.
