Mix in fear, threat, angst, violence, bullying, stir, heat up, cool down and you have a serving of a feel good formula movie. A bit too complex for under six years of age. The usual overcharged special effects. Patronizing bit on the 'Jewish Mother' was in bad taste.

I took my 5.5yr old daughter and she thought it was just ok. She likes dogs, but she wasn't excited or anything. I thought it was decent flick for kids. There was poor set up with the neighbourhood "friends" who owns shops and such. Suddenly they just wanted to fight (literally) authorities and even trash their store? Decent message about bullying and I like John Cleese and the slob brother (quick single sentence in the movie explained why the sister was British and the brother was not). At least the antagonist was not pure evil and rude for kids. I enjoyed it, but not a movie I'd watch again.
