It wasn't very good. I'm not sure if it was the script, the acting or both that was bad. James Franco's performance was very disappointing, but then again, so was the character itself. The storyline wasn't very good... I am a big fan of the original Wizard of Oz, and this didn't cut it. It's so disappointing as I think a different angle could have been AWESOME. The visual effects were wonderful, which is why I didn't give it a 1 or 2.

Awful! I watched this film in IMAX and could not get immersed in the story. All these great actors were given a horrible script and awful direction. I looked forward to this movie, but though it had great potential it fell flat. Performances felt forced, and the moment you started to feel for a character--CUT! I can't find words to describe how bad this film is... I can't. The only bit I liked was the effects (the china doll is incredible) and costumes. Such a shame. Wait for the DVD if you must see it.

Visually beautiful, particularily the intro sequence. But Franco is stretched, and the whole movie feels compressed into a shorter timeframe than the story deserves. Also, this is NOT a proper prequel so don't go in expecting that.
