A bit of a navel-gazer. J.R. character was too self-focussed and other important issues (spousal abuse, arranged marriages etc) were just touched on and not explored.

I have to say it was a HUGE disappointment. I loved the book and eagerly awaited this movie. It was very slow and people actually walked out. I did enjoy seeing the characters come to life and the scenery was beautiful but I think the movie could have been so much better. If you've read the book go see it, if you haven't don't waste your time, you won't get it.

I love the different country she was in the movie is very good, a little slow at times. Julia smile can always keep you interested in what she is saying and doing. I find it funny also.
