  Don't waste your money, the worst George Clooney movie. No story, boring and very slow-waiting for something to happen, never does.

  I'm very surprised by the low stars. Yes the movie was slow but it's an "indie". Aren't they all slow? A little In Bruges with out the laughs.

  I just got back from seeing this stupid movie. I would have seriously WALKED OUT, if I wasn't with another couple. What a total waste of time, and money!!!!! It was pretty much a porn show. There was no story line, none of it made any sense, and it was extremely boring!! I'd rather be home cleaning the house. The trailer was the best part.

  This is a movie which consists of interminable shots of George Clooney staring at nothing and flexing his jaw muscles, walking up and down the hills of probably the least attractive town in Italy, and driving back and forth to nowhere. Men will enjoy the scenery much more, because of the many shots of the prostitute with very little, if any, clothing covering her heart of gold.

  Am a big George Clooney fan. However, The American......boring, boring, boring. Would have rather had my finger nails pulled out. Left before it ended.

  If there were zero stars I would have given it zero (even a negative amount)! SAVE YOUR MONEY it's wouldn't even be worth rental money.
