This drama tells the story of 17-year-old Isabelle (Marine Vacth) whose middle-class background growing up in Paris inexplicably propels her into becoming a high-end prostitute. She isn’t poor, and all her problems at home seem common. There are no obvious reasons for her to turn to prostitution.
The film opens with Isabelle’s summer vacation with her family on the eve of her 17th birthday. She decides to celebrate by losing her virginity to a German boy called Felix (Lucas Prisor). The big event, however, proves to be less than euphoric. The narrative then jumps to autumn, when the family returns to Paris. Isabelle launches herself into a series of paid-for encounters in hotel rooms with much older men. Winter follows, and during a hotel rendezvous, a tragedy occurs, leading Isabelle's family to question her actions.
