Following investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill, Dirty Wars goes behind the scenes of the many unpublicized wars in which the United States of America is involved.

The documentary takes on the feel of a mystery novel, as Scahill delves further and further into the United States government and travels all over the world to expose the military action that they are trying to keep silent.
