Julie Davis (Amanda Seyfried), a bestselling children’s author, and her husband Ethan Davis (Finn Wittrock) are a young couple who have brought a newborn daughter into the world. The days that follow after giving birth to her second child, are wonderful, with Julie taking her daughter to the park, and even playing dress up together. However, she begins to experience thoughts and emotions that have never occurred before, as she struggles with postpartum depression.
Overwhelmed with anxiety and her emotions, Julie begins to fear that the ones she loves will soon cease to love her back. Describing her experience as walking through a world that is black and white, with the help of her family Julie begins her recovery, as she begins to feel joy and see the color in the world again.
